Arizona State Credit Union Holds Last Shred-a-Thon For the Year in Cottonwood

Final opportunity for community members to shred sensitive documents

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Arizona State Credit Union invites you to its final Shred-a-Thon event of the year at the Cottonwood branch. This free event provides an opportunity for Cottonwood community members to safely dispose of personal documents.

The Credit Union’s Cottonwood branch is the seventh and final stop on the 2014 Shred-a-Thon tour. Community members are encouraged to bring up to five boxes of sensitive documents to shred from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7.

“This is the fifth year we have provided shred services to our members, and we have seen great success with the program,” said David E. Doss, President/CEO of Arizona State Credit Union. “We are proud to host Shred-a-Thons in our Arizona communities every year, and are committed to continuing to help residents protect their personal information.”

During the Credit Union’s most recent shred event in Prescott Valley, residents brought 9,620 pounds – nearly five tons – of documents to be shredded and recycled.

Important documents to bring to Shred-a-Thons include bank statements, tax returns, medical bills, credit card statements and other personal documents. Members and non-members can also receive $150 when they open a qualifying checking account.
