OneAZ partnered with The Foster Alliance to sponsor its application for the competitive grant. The funding will support the launch of The Foster Alliance Young Adult Pilot Initiative, a pilot program serving young adults ages 17 to 21 who are preparing to age out of foster care, have recently aged out, are participating in extended foster care, or are parenting while navigating the transition to adulthood.
“Being a trusted financial partner means helping nonprofit partners in our community move from complexity to lasting confidence by connecting them with resources that can expand their impact,” said Mike Boden, President & CEO of OneAZ Credit Union. “By connecting The Foster Alliance with the AHEAD Program, we are helping strengthen their ability to support young adults as they navigate one of the most important transitions of their lives.”
“On behalf of the young adults currently in and/or transitioning out of foster care, we are deeply grateful for this grant award and for OneAZ Credit Union’s significant partnership. Strong community partners amplify our impact every day, and we are fortunate to count OneAZ as a valued partner—today and for years to come,” said Maureen Noe, President & CEO of The Foster Alliance.
AHEAD grants enable FHLBank San Francisco members like OneAZ to give a critical boost to local economic development programs and projects that directly address pressing needs in low- to moderate-income communities. This year FHLBank San Francisco awarded $10 million through 72 projects across Arizona, California and Nevada.
“AHEAD grants support local organizations that provide job training, support small businesses, and open pathways to economic opportunity — work that can change lives and strengthen communities,” said Tom Dapice, senior vice president and community investment officer of FHLBank San Francisco. “We are proud to partner with our members to support innovative economic development initiatives that have a lasting local impact.”
